Season’s Wishes: Curated by Shanna Shryne Design

Shanna’s Pick: Green House by BC Greenhouse Builders Ltd.

Top of the list: Greenhouse for 1, please! Owning a greenhouse is like having your very own plant paradise, where you can grow flowers, veggies, and herbs all year long, no matter what the weather is doing outside. It’s a plant lover’s dream come true, providing a cozy, controlled space where your favorite plants thrive without the threat of frost or pests. With the right temperature, humidity, and light, you can experiment with unique plants, grow off-season crops, and even enjoy a constant supply of fresh produce. Plus, it’s a relaxing retreat where you can escape the hustle and bustle, get your hands dirty, and connect with nature in your very own botanical haven.

Shanna’s Pick: Cold Plunge Pool by Plunge All In

The weather outside is getting frightful (Ok, not entirely true, we do live in Southern California), so the first thing we want to do is submerge ourselves in ice cold water, right? These days, it seems everyone is talking about getting a cold plunge or knows someone who already owns one. The practice of plunging offers several physical and mental health benefits. It stimulates circulation by constricting blood vessels and then promotes faster blood flow once you exit, which can help reduce inflammation and muscle soreness. Regular cold plunges may enhance the immune system and boost energy. On a psychological level, cold water immersion can help reduce stress, improve mood, and increase mental resilience. Nestle your new cold plunge somewhere discreet and cozy outside, and begin to reap the benefits.

Laura’s Pick: Dandelions Rug by Atelier Agahzadeh

At first glance, what do you see? A field of dandelions fresh for the picking, or perhaps the popular talisman of the evil eye? The designer, Philippa Agahzadeh, cofounder and creative director of the brand, says the design is nostalgic in nature. Australian-born, Agahzadeh was inspired by childhood memories of blowing dandelion puffs with friends. Furthermore, the wool-and-silk construction of this 2.5-by-8 foot runner reflects the designer’s families’ wool farming roots. Playful and truly unexpected, the Dandelions rug is a showstopping piece of art.

Laura’s Pick: Piscine by Franck Genser

We’ve all seen indoor pools, but have you ever seen a pool in the living room? Piscine, a series of 5 coffee table designs by French designer Franck Genser, allows the consumer to “take a dip” while staying dry. The tables are handmade to order outside of Paris and come in rectangle, oval, and puddle-like shapes. Bold and striking, they’re created via a lost-wax casting technique, resulting in glimmering azure tops with bronze and waxed-brass legs shaped in similar fashion to ladders and diving boards. This winter, let your touch of whimsy be one that evokes sun-drenched, carefree days by the pool.

Mary’s Pick: Breccia Viola Marble by Ollin Stone

Designer tip to feel like instant royalty: select Breccia Viola Marble next time you’re ready to indulge. This  striking, luxurious stone is known for its rich, deep purple tones and dramatic veining.  Originating from Italy, this marble features intricate patterns of fractured rock that create a bold & elegant appearance.  Its unique texture and color variations make it a popular choice for high-end design projects, including countertops, flooring and wall cladding.  Sophisticated and opulent, Breccia Viola Marble will take your breath away.

Mary’s Pick: Shape Up 5 Piece Chandelier by Ladies & Gentlemen Studio

As 2025 nears, we’re taking the “anything but boring” approach. Introducing the Shape Up 5-Piece Chandelier. A striking example of minimalist, contemporary design, it is composed of five geometric, angular components. The chandelier features sleek, brass arms that extend gracefully from a central hub, each supporting a softly glowing bulb.  The chandelier’s modular form allows for a customizable arrangement, giving it versatility for various spaces. Its clean lines and sculptural aesthetic merge functional lighting with artistic expression.

So, finish wrapping those gifts and stuffing the stockings. Turn your focus and treat yourself by choosing thoughtful, quality pieces to add to your home that feel both stylish and inviting.
